Summer!!

Wow !! Summer is Finally here!! Congratulations to the new 7th grade Njhs members(which is now an 8th grader) :] i am gonna miss being the president of NJHS and missing everyone at Deerpark TT__TT anyways , HAVE A GREAT SUMMER EVERYONE!!!!!!

The Year is Coming to an End!

Wow! Can't believe 8th grade had gone by so fast! Since we still have the grant that we haven't spend yet we are thinking about doing an "end of year thing" but we need your help with coming up with ideas also at the last meeting we were talking about shirts right? so i am wondering if anyone still want it..i'm sure a few of you do..but please comment on this blog thanks guys :]

NJHS Service Hours Opportunity







Hello!
I would like to extend an invitation for Deerpark's NJHS students to earn service hours volunteering at Great Oaks Elementary's Annual Spring Carnival.
Carnival is Great Oaks PTA's biggest event of the year, and raises a large percentage of the funds needed to provide educational support to GOE's teachers and students.
This year's event is on April 18, and will run from 1-5pm.
Students can serve in many areas:
We have game booths from football throw and hoop it up, to face painting, crazy hair, moonwalk, inflatable obstacle course, go fish, and many more. We will have snow cone and cotton candy booths, as well as concessions.
We will also need help setting up and taking down the activities, so there is opportunity for volunteering beginning around 10 am and post-carnival from 5pm until we're done.
Carnival is very exciting for our kiddos and they love to see the middle school kids helping out. I think your NJHS students will have a great time earning these hours!

In case you missed it, we met with Ms. Pozzo, the teacher for the FLS classroom here at DMS. It went well. We brainstormed a lot of ideas, but we are open for more. Please post any ideas here. Hopefully we will be able to paint the room in early March.

Community Service

We will be meeting at the cafeteria at 3:35 on Jan. 15th to work on our recycling project. You will be able to get an hour's credit, too! If you are creative, all the better.
